Сонсголгүй иргэдийн олон улсын долоо хоногийг энэ сарын 22-28-нд “Дохионы хэлний эрхгүйгээр хүний эрх гэж үгүй” уриан дор тэмдэглэж байна.
Дэлхийн сонсголын бэрхшээлтэй иргэдийн холбооноос анх 1958 онд Италийн Ром хотод сонсголын бэрхшээлтэй хүмүүсийн долоо хоногийг тэмдэглэж эхэлжээ. НҮБ-аас 2017 оны 12 дугаар сард албан ёсоор жил бүрийн 9 дүгээр сарын 23-ныг Олон улсын дохионы хэлний өдөр болгохоор шийдсэн байна. НҮБ-ын Хөгжлийн бэрхшээлтэй хүмүүсийн эрхийн тухай конвенцод зааснаар Засгийн газрууд дохионы хэлний харилцаа, хэрэглээг бүх түвшинд дэмжих, мөн сонсголын бэрхшээлтэй иргэдийн соёл, хэлний онцлогийг хамгаалан түгээн дэлгэрүүлэх үүрэгтэй юм.
Монгол Улсын Хөгжлийн бэрхшээлтэй хүний эрхийн тухай хуулийн 12 дугаар зүйлд “Дохионы хэлний хэрэглээг дэмжиж, харилцаа холбоонд өргөн ашиглах нөхцөлийг бүрдүүлэх” гэж заасан байдаг бөгөөд манай улсад сонсголын бэрхшээлтэй есөн мянга орчим иргэн байдаг.
